Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington (BBBSNW) has received a $6,700 grant from Washington State Mentors (WSM) and Bank of America.
The Bank of America Mentoring Initiative Grant was presented on Oct. 27 by Lt. Gov. Brad Owen and representatives from Bank of America and WSM during a presentation ceremony at Shuksan Middle School. Accepting the award for BBBSNW was CEO Rex Dudley and his Little Brother, Angus, a student at Shuksan. Youthnet and Western Washington University also received awards.
The Bank of America Mentoring Initiative is funded by the Bank of America Charitable Foundation and administered by WSM.
“This partnership is a wonderful example of what can be accomplished when corporations and non-profits join forces to support young people. These grants are awarded to outstanding mentoring organizations that are serving youth living in poverty all across Washington State,” Owen said.
