Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Washington (BBBSNW) recently added Jenny Henley as match support specialist and Laurel Kunesh as School Buddies Program coordinator.
Having served for three years as the co-coordinator of Western Washington University’s Women’s Center, Henley came to BBBSNW looking for an opportunity to engage in community building and social service.
As a match support specialist, Henley will make and supervise mentoring matches in BBBSNW’s Community-Based Program. These matches pair adult volunteer mentors with children ages 6 to 14.
Kunesh will be coordinating the School Buddies Program in three Bellingham schools: Happy Valley Elementary, and Kulshan and Shuksan Middle Schools.
Before coming to BBBSNW, Laurel Kunesh spent 11 years teaching at Timber Ridge High School and six years as the Program Coordinator at Whatcom Community College’s Turning Point Program, helping adults transition back into the workplace.
