Bill Conerly to speak at Chamber’s Economic Forecast 2010

Bill Conerly, a well known Pacific Northwest economic consultant, will be the keynote speaker for the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s Economic Forecast 2010, a business economic forum.
The event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at the Bellingham Golf & Country Club located at 3729 Meridian St. The program begins with lunch at noon.
Conerly, author of “Businomics: From the Headlines to Your Bottom Line — How to Profit in Any Economic Cycle,” has been helping business managers make better decisions through a better understanding of the economy for more than 20 years. His projects have ranged from electronic commerce to strategic planning to public policy. He is also co-author of “Thinking Economics,” a high school textbook in multimedia format.
He previously served as senior vice president at First Interstate Bank and currently serves as chairman of the Cascade Policy Institute Board and a senior fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis. He earned his doctorate’s degree in economics from Duke University.
Pre-registration is $25 for chamber members, $30 for non-members and $250 for table patrons. To register, contact the chamber at either (360) 734-1330 or register online by 5 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8.
