Brett & Coats merges with Brett Murphy law firm

Bellingham’s Brett & Coats personal injury attorneys, in a series of mergers with other practices, has expanded statewide to become Brett Murphy. The firm will continue to focus on major personal injury and wrongful death claims against insurance companies.
John Murphy, a Washington Super Lawyer with 36 years experience as a trial lawyer, will merge his firm into Brett Murphy and will head the new Skagit County office in Mt. Vernon.
Steve Knapp, with 24 years experience prosecuting and defending major personal injury claims, will merge his Seattle firm into Brett Murphy and will head the expanded Seattle office.
Paula McCandlis, a Bellingham family law attorney, will join the Bellingham office.
Brett Murphy will also maintain their part time offices in Tacoma, Spokane, and Vancouver Washington. The full name of the new firm is Brett Murphy Coats Knapp McCandlis & Brown PLLC.
