Founding partner of VSH accounting firm receives WWU honor

Kathy Varner, a founding partner of VSH CPAs in Bellingham, has been named Western Washington University Beta Alpha
Psi Alumnus of the Year.
The award recognizes Varner’s commitment to professional and scholastic excellence, according to an April 10 press release from VSH. She said she is a proponent of accountants thinking like business people by creating partnerships with businesses rather than just offering them accounting services.
A spring banquet, hosted by the honorary society, will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 18, in the Wilson Library Reading Room at WWU.
