Whatcom Community College and the nonprofit Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement are hosting an evening event Feb. 4 that will provide an overview of the Affordable Care Act, an update on its implementation in Washington state, and stories of health care reform’s impact on people in Whatcom County.
“The Affordable Care Act and You: A Whatcom County Report,” is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, on WCC’s campus. The event is free, but registration is necessary: call 360-383-3200 or visit www.whatcomcommunityed.com.
The presentation will be led by Larry Thompson, WAHA’s executive director. The nonprofit organization has been coordinating efforts to help people apply for free and low-cost health care coverage made available through the new federal health care law.
