The Internal Revenue Service has teamed up with a coalition of tax software firms to provide a free online tax program to those with a 2011 adjusted growth income of $57,000 or less.
The deadline to file taxes is Tuesday, April 17.
The coalition, known as the Free File Alliance, urged taxpayers to take advantage of the IRS Free File program before the deadline, in an April 12 press release.
Users can access the program on the IRS’ website at www.irs.gov/freefile.
