Join The Kulshan Community Land Trust as it celebrates its 10th birthday.

The land trust will celebrate 10 years of work with a celebration from 6 to 9 p.m., Nov. 6 at the Leopold Ballroom at 1224 Cornwall Ave.

There will be music and refreshments, but it won’t be all fun. The Kulshan Community Land Trust will also hold its annual meeting when it will elect new members to its board of trustees.

Last year partygoers enthusiastically participated in a new fundraising ‘moment’ called ‘Paddles up for KulshanCLT.’ This five-minute ‘lightning’ non-auction provides an opportunity for those who wish to augment their membership with an additional gift. This year, the land trust has set a goal of $15,000 to raise at the party, which will be matched dollar-for-dollar by an anonymous benefactor.

Every $1,000, the land trust raises locally secures $35,000 more in private, state and federal funds to use as community investment, purchasing homes in partnership with our homebuyers. Reaching the $15,000 goal will result in a community investment of $700,000 or more to invest in KulshanCLT homes and enable us to partner with at least 15 new homebuyers.

Nonmembers pay $15 admission (accompanying kids 12 and under free), or opt to become a member or renew at the door. Friends, neighbors and co-workers are encouraged to attend.
