Toys for Tots Bellingham Whatcom County will be having a ribbon cutting ceremony for its distribution center located at 207 Samish Way in the former Popeye’s Chicken location at 8:45 a.m. on Dec. 4. Sponsors are welcome. There will be free pizza from Little Caesars of Whatcom/Skagit County and soda. Toy distribution will begin at 9 a.m., shortly after the ribbon cutting.

Vince McLeod, coordinator for Toys for Tots Bellingham Whatcom County and multimedia sales manager for The Bellingham Business Journal, said that Toys for Tots is one of the oldest and most successful toy drive campaigns in the United States.

“Ninety-seven cents of every dollar donated to Toys for Tots in Whatcom County stays in Whatcom County,” McLeod said.

On Dec. 5 at 10 a.m., local motorcycle clubs that donated to the Second Annual Motorcycle Club Toy Drive for Toys for Tots will be delivering toys to the distribution center.

Toys for Tots would like to give thanks to all of their sponsors for their loyal support, and be sure to look for Toys for Tots on “Experience Northwest” with Deb Slater on KVOS television.

Toys for Tots distribution will be open on the Dec. 4, 5, 11, 12, 18 and 19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call (360) 635-6162 or (360) 223-9860 for details and other events or go to www.toysfortots.org.
