The annual Bellingham Human Rights Film Festival is taking place Feb. 16-25 at the Pickford Film Center, Fairhaven College, and venues throughout the county.
For the past 12 years, BHRFF has offered insightful and inspiring documentaries on a variety of critical global and local rights issues, organizers say. Films this year “highlight corporate power, child labor, domestic violence, and community rights to develop sensible energy policies.”
The 12th annual BHRFF features 20 powerful films over 10 days. All films are free to the public, through the efforts of many volunteers and supporters.
The festival encourages broad sharing of knowledge about human rights concerns as well as effective avenues for developing greater equity and justice. Each film is followed by a facilitated discussion that includes filmmakers, human rights activists, and local experts on each issue.
