More than 50 local restaurants will donate a portion of their sales on Tuesday, May 12, to the Maple Alley Inn, a program that serves hot meals to those in need.
This is the 15th annual Dine Out for Maple Alley Inn. Previous events have raised more than $22,000.
An increasing number of people are coming to Maple Alley Inn for a hot meal, Opportunity Council spokesperson Sheri Emerson said in a news release. The program serves people who are homeless, mentally ill, poor, aging, disabled veterans, and families with children.
The Maple Alley Inn serves meals from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Faith Lutheran Church, at 2750 McLeod Road in Bellingham, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church at 2117 Walnut St., in Bellingham.
