Aiki Homes of Bellingham were recently awarded in the 2010 Built Green Western Washington Custom Home category.

It and other entries from across western Washington were judged on energy testing, materials used, impact on the environment and amount of construction waste generated. LEED Platinum Certification is pending for the home. If granted, it would make it the first in Whatcom County.
The Built Green program is a non-profit building program of the Building Industry Association of Whatcom County in partnership with other Washington state agencies. The program seeks to promote environmentally friendly building.
