Airporter Shuttle broke a single-day passenger record last week, carrying more than 1,000 passengers out of its hub at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Sunday, Dec. 1, the company reported.
Company president Richard Johnson said the passenger uptick likely had a lot to do with Central Washington University students heading back to their Ellensburg campus from the Seattle area. Passenger counts for Dec. 1 were more than twice the average for a typical Sunday, the company reported.
“The threat of inclement weather was another factor, and our entire staff did a fantastic job of handling the increased passenger counts,” Johnson said, in a news release.
Airporter Shuttle and its sister company, Bellair Charters, offer daily roundtrips between Bellingham and Sea-Tac Airport, and additional daily roundtrips between Yakima and Sea-Tac Airport. Both lines are owned by Wickkiser International Companies Inc.
