Biringer Farm in Arlington hosts its fourth annual Strawberry Festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on June 16 and 17.
Farm owners anticipate their strawberries will be in-season from mid-to-late June, and the farm will have “u-pick” and “we-pick” strawberries and strawberry shortcake for sale.
The theme of this year’s festival is “fun and farmland.”
Kids’ activities include a giant strawberry ride, kites, animals, face paint, giant strawberry and castle-maze inflatables, pennies in the hay, kites, kiddy slides, pig-butt bowling, interactive strawberry story time, riding the jolly trolley and plucking strawberries right off the vines.
“The strawberry festival is a great opportunity to see a real working farm up close and support local agriculture,” Biringer Farm owner Mike Biringer said in a May 17 press release.
Other farms open during the Strawberry Festival include Garden Treasures Nursery & Organic Farm and Foster’s Produce and Corn Maze.
The farms are located on the Red Rooster Route, which is home to a variety of spring and summer festivals. including Red Rooster Route Days on July 21 and 22.
