On Friday, Oct. 17, Aslan Brewing is hosting a release party for No Coal Porter, a small batch beer that will support clean energy projects.
$1 per pint will go to Re Sources for Sustainable Communities’ clean energy program area.
The following three current projects make up RE Sources for Sustainable Communities clean energy program:
– Power Past Coal – an alliance of community groups working to stop coal export off the West Coast.
– Safe Fuels Initiative – a partnership with ForestEthics focused on stopping oil transport through communities and across the Puget Sound and Salish Sea.
– Coal Free PSE – a partnership with Sierra Club to lobby Puget Sound Energy to close its coal-powered eastern Montana Colstrip Generating Station and replace it with energy conservation and renewable energy resources.
The release party is at at 7 p.m. at Aslan’s brewpub, at 1330 N. Forest St. The party also includes a showing of the documentary “Momenta,” produced by professional snowboarder Jeremy Jones, free live music by Br’er Rabbit and the kick-off event for the Western Washington University Students for Renewable Energy club.
