The Ayurvedic Wellness Shop in downtown Bellingham will host a grand-opening event on Thursday, Oct. 4.
Owners Juliet Jivanti and Ashlie LaLonde plan to sell ayurvedic herbs, teas, spices, crystals, gemstones, beauty items, books and other
wellness supplies at the shop, which is located at 203 W. Holly St., Suite 204.
The opening event will take place from 5:05 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The new store is a retail offshoot of the Ayurvedic Health Center, which Jivanti founded in 2006.
Ayurveda is a 5,000-year-old tradition of health practices that first evolved in India and has recently gained increasing popularity in the U.S.
The grand opening will include ayurveda information, free samples of ayurvedic drinks and snacks, as well as a drawing for gift baskets of wellness packages that include gemstones, essential oils, teas, spices and ayurvedic treatments.
Jivanti and LaLonde plan to operate the store from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays, and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesdays through Fridays.
