Thomas J. Barrett is a new trustee for the Bellingham Public Library.
The Bellingham City Council approved Mayor Kelli Linville’s recommendation of Barrett last month.
Barrett has served two terms on the city’s Planning and Development Commission, including four years as chair. He also served two terms on the parks board, including as the board’s liaison to the Greenway Advisory Committee.
He joins Faye Hill, J. Gordon, Rachel Myers and Marilyn Mastor on the library’s board of trustees, which is the governing and policy-setting body for the city’s library system. Each member’s term lasts five years.
