To celebrate the bicycle as a mode of transportation and recreation, the Pickford Film Center, SPARK Museum of Electrical Invention and Mount Bakery host the fourth annual Bellingham Bike-In on Friday, Aug. 17, on Bay Street in downtown Bellingham.
Events start at 7 p.m. with music and a “Show ‘n Shine” bike show. At 8:45 p.m., organizers will screen the movie “Stop Making Sense,” featuring the influential ’80s band Talking Heads. The Bike-In is free, but donations will be accepted.

7 p.m.: Beer garden opens, Bike Show n’ Shine registration, music by Smokewagon
7:30 p.m.: Bike Show n’ Shine registration closes
8:15 p.m.: Show n’ Shine winners awarded, other announcements, prizes
Prizes will be awarded in the following Show ‘n Shine categories: Best Vintage Classic (before 1980) – Original or restored classic bikes; Best Special Custom – Hand-built, novelty, multi-wheeled, tall, circus bikes; Best Decorated Bike – Any type or year of bike decorated with streamers, lights, cards; Best in Show – Most amazing bike at the event.
