A committee of local brewers, craft beer fanatics, bar owners and bottle shop owners have organized the second annual Bellingham Beer Week, which will take place from Sept. 20-29.
The 10-day event series includes Oktoberfest celebrations, brewer nights, documentary films and a variety of other activities. It will feature three Bellingham craft breweries—Chuckanut Brewery, Boundary Bay Brewery and Kulshan Brewery—plus more than a dozen beer bars, beer stores, restaurants and other businesses.
The idea for Bellingham Beer Week came from Jim Parker, a Fort George Brewery rep, and Aaron Matson, owner of The Copper Hog Gastropub. The events are meant to celebrate craft beer, both the varieties produced locally, as well as outside of Bellingham.
