The Bellingham Blazers Booster Club will host a golf tournament fundraiser on Friday, Sept. 13, at the Shuksan Golf Club in Bellingham.

The Blazers are an expansion team in the Northern Pacific Hockey League, a junior ice hockey league with teams in Washington and Oregon.

In the Blazers’ inaugural season last year, the team won the league title and competed at the Tier III Junior Hockey National Championship in Rochester, Minn.

The fundraising tournament, sponsored in part by the Best Western Lakeway Inn in Bellingham, is a “best-ball” format, comprised of four-person teams. It will begin at 1 p.m.

Entry is $125 per player or $500 per team.  Fees cover greens fees, cart rental, a commemorative shirt, food and a meet-and-greet with players. Money raised through the event will go toward the Blazers’ equipment and travel costs.

Prizes will also be given away. Members of the winning team will each receive two season tickets for the Blazers’ 2013-2014 season.
