Iris Christie, an employee of Bellingham-based Senior Support Services, recently became a Certified Professional Guardian (CPG). The certification is awarded by the Supreme Court and allows Christie to act as a guardian for a person determined to be incapacitated by the superior court.

To earn the certification, Christie completed a nine month program at the University of Washington and was approved by the Certified Professional Guardianship Board.
