Colleen Mitchell, project engineer at 2020 Engineering in Bellingham, will be a presenter at the 6th annual Living Future 2012 UnConference in Portland, Ore., on Friday, May 4.
The conference is hosted by the Cascadia Green Building Council and is a forum for leaders in the green-building movement seeking to resolve global issues and provide inspiration to progress toward a sustainable future.
Mitchell was also recently appointed as the northwest Washington leader for the council.
She will speak to conference attendees, including academics, policy makers and industry representatives, about her experience solving water usage and material input challenges at Seattle’s Bullitt Center, a project of the Bullitt Foundation.
The center has been touted as the most energy efficient commercial building in the world.
Mitchell’s session is titled, “The Bullitt Center: A Living Building Transforming How We Build and Work.”
