Pam Kiesner, director of the Bellingham Public Library, announced she will retire at the end of the year. The library board of trustees accepted her resignation at its meeting on Sept. 20. She will step down at the end of the year.
This year marks her 40th year in library administration. She spent the last 12 at the Bellingham Public Library.
Accomplishments during her tenure include overseeing the establishment of the Barkley branch, renovating the historic Fairhaven branch and serving as a founding member of Whatcom READS.
