Marina designer and builder Bellingham Marine has announced the relocation of its corporate office.
The company moved into its new location, at 1323 Lincoln St. in Bellingham, on Dec. 27.
“We were fortunate to find a nice building close to our old office and in a central location. We wanted to limit the impact that relocation could have on our clients and our employees. I don’t think we could have a better location for our team,” Everett Babbitt, Bellingham Marine’s president and CEO, said in a March 28 press release. “Having the financial strength to make this purchase in the current real estate market, and remain debt free, allowed us to receive great value and create another sound investment for our owners.”
The new office is just a few miles from the company’s previous location, where it had been for more than 80 years.
The new office space has upgraded communications and technology systems, new amenities for employees and room for growth.
The company operates 10 manufacturing plants and 18 offices worldwide. It has 10 facilities in Bellingham, seven of which the company owns.
“Owning our own building gives us staying power in these uncertain economic times and creates a hedge against any future inflation,” said Paul Chapman, the company’s CFO. “There are significant financial advantages to being our own landlord that we enjoy at all of those locations.”
