Sears Hometown Stores is set to unveil a new store design that puts the spotlight on appliances at three Washington stores, including the one in Marysville.
The updated design includes new products, redesigned merchandise, added fixtures and signs and more employee training. The overhaul aims to help the company frame its brand as “America’s Appliance Experts.”
The effort aims to simplify the buying process for customers, said Jim Dignam, district manager of Sears Hometown Stores, in a statement.
“Customers visiting America’s Appliance Experts stores in Washington will be able to more easily search for every appliance combination they can imagine,” Dingam said. “Through this new approach to sales and customer service, we’re providing a shopping experience that other big box retailers can’t match.”
This weekend, consumers can get a 10 percent discount off almost everything in the store. The Bellingham store is located at 3548 Meridian St. The other stores getting the update are in Marysville and East Wenatchee.
In the new design, appliances will occupy more than half of the sales floor and stores will stock more brands including Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid and Samsung.
The new floor plan also includes three kitchen vignettes, which showcase complete kitchen packages.
As part of the refresh, the Washington Sears Hometown Stores provide added training for store associates, including brand specific selling certification. Touch-screen kiosks have been added so customers can browse product options. The changes are part of a system-wide refresh of all Sears Hometown Store locations. The company started updating stores last year and now has nearly 275 “America’s Appliance Experts” locations across the United States.
