Bellingham Technical College holds its annual Welding Rodeo from May 18-19.
A mix of professional, amateur and student teams will create welded sculpture from scrap-metal. A panel of three recognized professionals from the field will judge each piece for quality and aesthetics.
The first place team wins $2,500; second place receives $2,000; third wins $1,600; and $400 is given to the winners of the “People’s Choice” award.
The event runs on Friday, May 18 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Saturday, May 19 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
