Bellingham whale-watching cruise company turns 50

Island Mariner Cruises is celebrating its 50th anniversary offering whale-watching cruises in the San Juan Islands.
The Bellingham company operates a 110-foot cruise boat named “Island Caper.”
“Surveys show that our number one source of customers is repeat customers; our number two source is word of mouth,” Terry Buzzard, the company’s owner and ship captain, said in a May 14 press release. “Clearly, we’re doing something right, because our customers are going home happy, and they continue to come back again and again.”
