Bellingham's Schacht Law buys the Hughes Law Firm

Schacht Law Office, a Bellingham-based patent and trademark law firm, has purchased the Hughes Law Firm.

As part of the purchase, Schacht Law Office has hired two employees from the Hughes firm.

Dwayne Rogge is a patent agent with nearly 6 years of experience at preparing and prosecuting patent applications.

Carole Petralli is an intellectual property law assistant with more than 8 years of experience.

In addition, Tara Olvera has been hired as an intellectual property law assistant.

The Hughes Law Firm was established by Bob Hughes in 1974. Bob’s son, Mike Hughes, joined the firm in 1999 and became a partner in 2003. Bob Hughes recently retired, and Mike Hughes is retiring from law to focus on his new business, NextLevel Training.

Schacht Law Office was established in 2002 by Mike Schacht, a native of Bellingham with more than 20 years’ experience in intellectual property, patent and trademark law.
