Ben Kinney added two real estate software companies to his portfolio

Bellingham’s Ben Kinney completed an acquisition of Kwkly, a mobile real estate app that connects buyers with agents, on July 31, 2015.

The deal is Kinney’s second acquisition from Zillow Group, one of the largest online real estate information companies. In June he bought ActiveRain, a social networking and training platform for the real estate industry.

“I’m excited to bring Kwkly into the Ben Kinney family, and to provide homebuyers with real-time ability to connect with agents,” Kinney said in a press release. “As mobile search increased over 57 percent from last year, Kwkly stood out as the perfect product to add to our portfolio of tech companies, as well as a way to fulfill both consumer demand and agents’ need for quality leads.”

Kinney’s plans for Kwkly include a rebranding and “expanding the value proposition to more closely reflect mobile’s continuing growth,” the press release said.

Kinney’s other companies include seven Keller Williams offices in Washington and one in the United Kingdom; a collection of real estate-related training and software companies, including Real Launch, Brivity and Blossor; the technology firms Big Fresh and Tech Help; and the Ben Kinney Training Organization.
