Blue Skies for Children partnered with Soles4Souls in April to bring brand new athletic shoes to 140 Whatcom County children who were either homeless, low-income or in foster care.
Blue Skies will be implementing a new program called the “Winter Warm-Up Program” in Fall 2010. This program will focus on getting new or gently used coats, hats, gloves, scarves and blankets and distributing them to homeless or low-income children.
Donations can be made by calling (360) 756-6710 or by visiting www.blueskiesforchildren.org.
Additionally, Blue Skies will be holding its fifth annual Mother’s Day garden party on May 8 and 9 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The party will involve a stroll through the garden with food, games and plants for sale. It will be at 373 W. Hemmi Road, north of Bellingham. Attendance costs $10 and all proceeds will benefit Blue Skies for Children.
