Book club features authors' survey of business-management world

Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center co-hosts the Hot100BizBook Club from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Sept. 19, in the Fireside Room of the Fairhaven branch of the Bellingham Public Library.

The featured book at the free meeting is titled “First, Break All the Rules: What the World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently,” by Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman. The book is a result of observations based on 80,000 interviews with managers conducted by the Gallup Organization in the past 25 years. The authors explore how managers have debunked management myths and developed new ways to obtain and keep talented employees. (More information on the book from Village Books’ website)

Phil Orlandi of Clique Studios will facilitate the event. Orlandi leads the Clique University and Change Leadership practice, focusing primarily on helping clients engage with tools and solutions and use them for better results.

The Hot100BizBook Club meets once per quarter. The events are co-sponsored by Hot100Business, NW Business Development, WWU’s Small Business Development Center, Bellingham Public Library, Clique Studios and Village Books.
