Cafe de Rosas open in Dorothy Haggen lobby

Cafe de Rosas, a cafe serving breakfast and lunch, recently opened in the lobby of Barkley Village’s Dorothy Haggen building at 2211 Rimland Drive.

Owner Vanessa Rosas said she used to work at Sterling Life Insurance Company in Barkley Village, so when she saw the previous cafe close she jumped at the opportunity. She remodeled the space and brought in a new menu targeting professionals on the go. The cafe makes hot and cold coffee drinks using Tony’s Coffee and serves breakfast pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads.

“I really just want it to be a place where people can take their breaks and sit down and have a conversation over a cup of coffee,” Rosas said.

Rosas said she is a new business owner and is excited to see the business come together.

“I am seeing how all the pieces of the puzzle fit together and how everything has to work hand in hand,” Rosas said.
