CEV workshop will teach strategies in competitive intelligence

Western Washington University’s Center for Economic Vitality (CEV) will host free workshops in August teaching businesses how to use competitive intelligence to advance business goals.

Competitive intelligence gives business owners and managers access to industry, market and financial information.

“Many small to medium-sized businesses can’t afford to hire market research firms to understand what is happening in their industry and with their competition,” said Tom Dorr, director for the CEV. “But business owners need to understand current market trends, new innovations, consumer preference trends and competing or substitute products on the market.”

Workshops will be held from 3-5 p.m  on Aug. 4 at the Whatcom Educational Credit Union in Ferndale, and from 8:30-10 a.m. on Aug. 5 at the Mount Baker Theatre in Bellingham.

Business owners and managers in Whatcom and Skagit counties are encouraged to attend. While there is no cost, pre-registration is recommended. To pre-register, call the CEV at (360) 733-4014 or info@cevforbusiness.com and note the location.
