A charity golf tournament to support Bellingham Dollars for Scholars (a program of Whatcom Community Foundation) and the Navy SEAL Foundation will be held on Friday, Sept. 27, at Shuksan Golf Club in Bellingham.
The Commander Pete Oswald Memorial Golf Tournament is an annual Birdies for the Brave charity event to support philanthropy and honor the memory of Commander Pete Oswald, a fallen Navy SEAL. Oswald’s family has a personal connection to the Whatcom Community Foundation, which offered assistance to Oswald’s wife and three daughters to help them through their loss.
The Bellingham Dollars for Scholars program supports scholarships for local high school students.
The tournament’s registrations begins at noon on Sept. 27; a “shotgun” start is scheduled for 1 p.m. For registration information, visit www.oswaldtournament.com or email oswaldgolf@gmail.com.
