Northwest Park and Recreation District 2 offers a series of summer learning camps throughout July and August for children ages 7 to 15.
The camps, co-sponsored by Tutor Doctor, are designed to combine education with life experience.
Sessions begin July 9 and run through Aug. 24. They are held at various locations in Blaine and Birch Bay.
Participants can attend one week or join for several weeks.
The camps’ subjects include: biology geology, ecology, engineering, physics and writing.
Activities include: playing badminton, going fly fishing, taking photos, preparing recipes, as well as building hot-air balloons and gliders.
There are also one-day field trips featuring sea kayaking, whale watching and river rafting.
