Chinese Martial Arts Academy moved at the beginning of May from its location at 1705 N. State St. to a larger space near the Soy House in Bakerview Square.
The new space is three times larger than the previous location and has enough room to hold multiple classes at the same time, owner Christopher Strelau said.
“Finding a new location for the school was a challenge. We needed something that could house more students and concurrent classes,” Strelau said.
Strelau is expanding the class offerings to include boot camps, Tai Chi and Balintawak Arnis, also known as Filipino stick fighting. The new academy will have an open house June 26 that will include demonstrations and free classes. The open house will coincide with a grand opening celebration for all of Bakerview Square.
