Chuckanut Brewery wins North American Beer awards

Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen won five medals at the 15th annual North American Beer Awards competition that took place at the beginning of June in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Beers were evaluated based on how closely they met the style definition for the categories in which they were entered. The event was judged by brewers, certified beer judges and other qualified professionals, and was conducted as a blind sampling.

Chuckanut Brewery won gold for its Kolsch German Ale and Dunkel Lager, silver for both Chuckanut Light Ale and Munich Helles Lager, and bronze for the Chuckanut Pilsner.

In the two and a half years the brewery has been open, it has won a variety of awards — including being named 2009 Small Brewpub and Small Brewpub Brewer of the Year at the 28th Annual Great American Beer Festival — but this is the first time it has won for its ales.
