The Opportunity Council has hired David Webster, Bellingham’s chief administration officer, as an associate director for its early learning and family services department.
Webster will take over the department’s operations and program development, along with other duties. He will start at the council in late January after he leaves his position with the city.
The Opportunity Council is a community action agency in Whatcom, Island and San Juan counties. It serves homeless and low-income families with programs including emergency and transitional housing, energy assistance, weatherization, early learning and child care resources.
In the past, Webster has worked as an independent consultant with the council. He is also a former director of Northwest Youth Services, an organization that aids at-risk youth in Whatcom and Skagit counties.
The council’s Bellingham office is located at 1111 Cornwall Ave., Suite C. It is online at www.oppco.org.
