City arts commission seeks nominees for Mayor's Arts Awards

The Bellingham Arts Commission is seeking nominations for the 34th annual Mayor’s Arts Awards.

The commission accepts nominations to honor those who have significantly contributed to the arts in the community.

Awards can be given to individual artists, businesses, benefactors, organizations, arts educators, arts supporters or civic improvement leaders, as well as for notable events or achievements.

“This long-standing award is offered in celebration and recognition of the many talented, creative people who inspire our community through the arts,” Bellingham Mayor Kelli Linville said, in a press release.

The nomination deadline is Dec. 31.

Once the nomination period is closed, staff will announce the date for the awards ceremony.

Nominations may be made online by using the Mayor’s Arts Award Nomination Form, emailing them to, or submitting them to Shannon Taysi, Planning and Community Development, 210 Lottie St..

A list of last year’s winners is available on the Mayor’s Arts Awards website.
