The Bellingham City Council will accept public comments on the proposed 2013 budget at a public hearing scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 19, in City Council Chambers.

Written comments will also be accepted and should be submitted to: Bellingham City Council, 210 Lottie St., Bellingham, WA 98225; or by email to ccmail@cob.org.

Bellingham Mayor Kelli Linville presented the 2013 Preliminary Budget to council members on Oct. 8.

The City Council has held four work sessions during the past month to consider the budget in more detail, with two more planned for Nov. 19 and Nov. 26.

After these sessions and the Nov. 19 public hearing, the council is tentatively scheduled to consider a final budget on Dec. 3.

Materials for all council work sessions, the Nov. 19 public hearing, and the budget deliberations in December are routinely published on the City Council meeting materials section of the city’s website.

By state law, a final budget for 2013 must be adopted by Dec. 31.
