City Council to hold hearing on marijuana issues

The Bellingham City Council will hold a public hearing at 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12, in City Council chambers at City Hall, regarding two marijuana-related topics.

The hearing will address the emergency ordinances approved by City Council on July 1, one adopting interim zoning for the cultivation of medical marijuana for personal use and in collective gardens, and the other imposing a moratorium on the establishment of facilities producing, processing and retailing recreational marijuana, according to a notice released by city staff.

More information on City Council business is available on the city’s website.
