Co-founder of Volume Inc. design firm visits WWU, Dec. 3

Western Washington University’s Department of Design will present a free talk with graphic designer Eric Heiman at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec.3, in Fraser Hall room 4.

Heiman received bachelor’s in graphic design from the California College of the Arts and bachelor’s in architecture from Carnegie Mellon University.

He is principal and co-founder of Volume Inc., a San Francisco-based firm which focuses on engaging people through its designed environments, books, films, print collateral and Web-based media.

Volume has worked in a variety of industries and with a diverse range of clients including The California Academy of Sciences, ReadyMade magazine, Adobe, Sony, McSweeney’s, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Mohawk Fine Papers, Chronicle Books, Heath Ceramics, The American Institute of Architects and Microsoft.

In addition to Heiman’s talk about Volume, the firm’s work will be displayed as part of the “Masters of Design” exhibition hosted by the Western Gallery from April 10 to May 18, 2013.  For additional exhibition information, visit westerngallery.wwu.edu.
