Five Columns Restaurant will be hosting a benefit dinner to raise money for Support Officer Community Care on Monday, Oct. 12.
Rather than be served by the Five Columns staff, attendees will be greeted, seated and served by police officers, sheriff deputies, paramedics and firemen. Restaurant staff will do the cooking, however. Dinner options will be: baked salmon, Greek ribs or braised lamb.
“This is the fourth year that we have partnered with them to raise money,” said Soula Christopoulos, co-owner of Five Columns. “The evening is very special.”
Support Officers is a group of local volunteers who respond to critical 911 calls and offer their support to the families of the victims. They are civilian volunteers who give their time and energy to help these families get through crisis situations.
Tickets are now available for purchase at either Five Columns or online at www.supportofficer.org. Tickets are $30 each, and dinner is being served in two seatings, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
