A pair of Corion Landscape Management crew supervisors recently earned certifications from the Professional Landcare Network.

Devin Dolan gained the Lawn Care Technician certification after passing two proctored exams covering all aspects of caring for variety of turf used in cool-season lawns. Devin showed a comprehensive understanding of dealing with grass diseases and weed or insect problems. He also demonstrated knowledge of the complete process for establishing or renovating a lawn, including the need for aeration, dealing with thatch and safe, effective fertilization and pesticide applications.

Rachel Dolan achieved the Horticultural Technician certification. She passed two proctored exams covering the care of trees and shrubs in residential and commercial landscape. The certification recognizes her expertise in a wide variety of plants used in area landscapes, including recognizing pest problems and other factors that stress ornamental foliage.

Both Dolans, who are married, have four years of experience with the Ferndale-based Corion Landscape Management, which provides maintenance services for businesses, condominium associations, assisted-living facilities and multi-family residential properties in northwest Washington.
