Jake’s Western Grill in Lynden has promoted Molly DenHartog as its new catering and event manager.
DenHartog has been involved with the Southern-style barbecue restaurant since owners Brian and Tanya Poag opened its doors in January 2008.
“Molly has demonstrated her responsibility, professionalism and attention to detail time and time again,” said Brian Poag, in a press release. “She is a huge asset to our catering department and is helping us take Jake’s catering to a new level; this promotion is a testament to the total faith we all have in her abilities.”
DenHartog duties now include coordinating food selection, décor planning and serving options, among other responsibilities.
As the official caterer for headlining acts at the Northwest Washington Fair, Jake’s Western Grill has fed celebrities such as The Oak Ridge Boys, Heart, Clint Black, Charlie Daniels, Randy Travis, Chicago and Foreigner.
The restaurant also provides catering services for Lynden’s PRCA Rodeo.
“Jake’s caters corporate and private events of all sizes,” DenHartog said. “On any given day I may be organizing a formal prime rib dinner for 300 wedding guests, scheduling a BBQ lunch for a local business, or spending an entire day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to celebrities and their crews at the Northwest Washington Fair. Managing catering and events for the restaurant is an exciting job; it’s a lot of hard work but I really love the variety.”
Jake’s Western Grill offers dine-in and take-out meals from its Lynden restaurant. Events are catered throughout Whatcom County.
