The Whatcom Council of Nonprofits will host a peer-learning brown bag discussion from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, at the office of the Whatcom Community Foundation, 119 Grand Ave., Suite A, in Bellingham.
The discussion will focus on ways nonprofits building relationships with the business sector.
“As a nonprofit, creativity is key when it comes to raising funds and earning income,” Virginia Lang, the discussion facilitator and a WCN Steering Committee member, said in a press release. “We will discuss strategies to craft and nurture partnerships between businesses and nonprofits that can add substantial resources to your development plan and your support team.”
The monthly brown bag discussions are a forum for networking, sharing best practices and education for nonprofit employees, leaders and volunteers.
In addition to the discussions, WCN provides resources to the nonprofit sector including bi-weekly e-newsletters, a nonprofit scheduling calendar and it also hosts bi-annual networking “Schmooze Fests,” executive directors’ round-table events and other trainings throughout the year.
