Whatcom County Library System has hired Jennifer Dixey as its collection support and digital initiatives manager.
As part of the WCLS management team, Dixey will provide technical support for the library’s Integrated Library System and online library catalog. She will also help manage the library’s physical and digital collections.
Dixey earned a master’s degree in library and information studies from the University of British Columbia. Upon graduation, she was hired by Western Washington University as the web developer for the Integrated Laboratory Network, a project funded by the National Science Foundation that allowed high school and community college students to access sophisticated laboratory instruments via the Web.
Dixey was most recently the system administrator for WWU’s learning management system. Earlier in her career, she launched an interactive media development company. She also previously worked at the Lynden Library as a public services assistant.
