End-of-life planning workshops set for March

The Whatcom Alliance for Health Advancement has scheduled a series of free workshops that will provide information on advance-care planning and end-of-life choices.

Participants can learn more about:

– The importance of advance-care planning
– How to choose a Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care
– How to talk to loved ones and doctors about preference for end-of-life care
– How to complete Advance Directive paperwork

Workshop schedule:

– Wednesday, March 6, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., Spring Creek Retirement & Assisted Living (in the Activity Lounge), 223 E. Bakerview Road (just east of Guide Meridian)
– Tuesday, March 12, 7-9 p.m., Deming Public Library, 5044 Mount Baker Highway
– Wednesday, March 13, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., St. Luke’s Health Education Center on the campus of St. Joseph Medical Center, 3333 Squalicum Parkway (east of the main campus)
– Wednesday, March 20, 4-6 p.m., Spring Creek Retirement & Assisted Living (in the Activity Lounge), 223 E. Bakerview Road (just east of Guide Meridian)
