The city of Bellingham is sponsoring a workshop on fair housing from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 7, in the YWCA Ballroom at 1026 N. Forest St.

The workshop will be conducted by Lauren Walker, executive director of the Fair Housing Center of Washington. Organizers say it will be particularly valuable for rental housing owners, property managers, renters and housing advocates, and will include in-depth discussion on issues such as disability, familial status, sexual orientation and domestic violence.

The event also will be filmed and aired on BTV10; check the BTV10 schedule for airtimes following the March 7 workshop.
