Merchants in Bellingham’s Fairhaven District plan to donate a percentage of their sales on Thursday, Nov. 14, to 20 Whatcom County nonprofit groups for the first annual Fairhaven Gives Back event.
The participating nonprofits were selected by a lottery. On the day of the event, customers in Fairhaven shops will be asked to select a nonprofit organization off of a checklist. That nonprofit will receive 10 percent of the purchase.
